Why Grow Your Own Vegetables?
Having your own organic vegetable garden not only provides you with fresh, delectable produce, it will save you money from your weekly grocery shop. Plus, it’s only a small cost to maintain your abundant harvest all year round, and because your organic seeds are open pollinating, you’ll be able to save your seeds for the next year and provide yourself with an ongoing supply of food.
Did you know plants absorb their nutrients from their soil, and us from the plants? Organic soil has a healthier balance of elements which gives organically-grown food a higher nutritional value than the produce you buy from the supermarket. Gardening can also provide a healthier mental outlook – allowing you to relax and connect with your own piece of nature, and what could be better than that!
No Chemicals or GMOs
One of the major benefits of home-grown produce is that you know exactly what is going into your food. All those chemical pesticides which are sprayed onto conventional fruit and vegetables can be completely eliminated with your own organic garden.
Better for the Environment
Organic gardening focusses on building healthy soil and ecosystems in our very own backyards, increasing biodiversity and creating a positive impact on the environment. By ensuring no chemicals are used in our gardening practices, we are creating a healthier environment within our community.

Vegetable Garden FAQs
How do I grow my own organic produce without spraying?
Instead of spraying your vegetables with harmful pesticides, organic gardening focusses on repairing the biodiversity in the area to allow biological control methods to occur naturally.
Pest infestation and disease only occur when plants are weak and there is an imbalance in the ecosystem. By applying organic gardening techniques such as planting in and regenerating the natural spectrum of pests, you allow Mother Nature to take care of things for you. So sit back and allow your organic garden to do all the dirty work for you!
How can I grow vegetables at my place without enough room?
Patios, verandas, courtyards, windowsills, and other small areas can be converted into a functional edible garden! We can help you design a garden that can fit into limited space and yields healthy and delicious fruits and vegetables.
What vegetables should I grow this season?
Growing vegetables that are in season is not only beneficial to your health but easy to do! Some major nurseries make all plants available to purchase, however, it’s important to do your research and choose in-season varieties before planting. Ask us what’s in season today!
I have tried so many times to grow my own vegetables but still seem to fail! What am I doing wrong?
9/10 times the problem is your garden’s soil. Don’t just rush out and purchase a bag of potting mix from the supermarket, as this won’t provide the adequate nutrition required for your seedlings.
The situation you grow your vegetables in will depend on what soil should be recommended, so think this step out carefully before purchasing your plants. If you have any questions or concerns, book in a Garden Doctor consultation to help set your garden up for success!
